Ghanaian arrested over phones that were purchased fraudulently

An investigation into fraudulent schemes in Monongalia County has led to charges being filed against 30-year-old Daniel Acheampong from Georgia, who is originally from Ghana.
This was contained in a press release sent by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the criminal complaint, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s office was contacted by a fraud investigator for Sprint Wireless.
The investigator said that multiple phones were purchased fraudulently and scheduled for delivery to two separate addresses. The addresses were associated with homes that were unoccupied.
Detectives were informed that the suspect would take the cell phones from the porch of the homes. Detectives were unable to intercept the suspect but secured the package containing two phones, totaling over $1,000.
The investigator contacted Sheriff’s office about another delivery to another address in Monongalia County. Detectives were able to take the suspect into custody after he tried to get the packages from the house.
